The Real Estate Department is active in all types of real estate transactions, both commercial and residential, including leasing, conveyancing, financ­ing, construction, syndications, joint ventures, and cooperative, condominium and homeowner association plans.  Our real estate attorneys feel the pulse of the Long Island real estate market by maintaining close relationships with other real estate professionals including members of the real estate development, lending, broker­age and title insurance communities.  The Firm’s real estate clients run the gamut from individual investors and developers to financial institu­tions, real estate investment trusts, commercial landlords and tenants, syndicators, title companies and public authorities.  As counsel to some of the largest owners of office and industrial properties in the New York metropolitan area, our attorneys draft and negotiate hundreds of leases each year, including many leases for corporate headquarters, munici­pal agencies and Fortune 500 companies.  We also represent many tenants in the negotiation of commercial leases and related agreements.  In the areas of real estate conveyancing and financing, we represent many developers, investors, joint venturers and lenders in the acquisition, sale and financing of residential and commercial properties including shopping centers, apartment complexes and office and industrial buildings. We have extensive experience in both conventional and conduit lending from both the lender’s and borrower’s perspectives.  In conjunction with our experi­enced tax counsel, we are able to assist our clients and their accountants in appropriate tax planning, including tax-de­ferred, like-kind exchanges.
